From a very early age, I was amazed and curious about pregnancy, birth, and babies.

My mother was a Lamaze Childbirth Educator in the 80s, so I grew up immersed in women's health, pregnancy, and birth. I have vivid memories of asking my mom to read the pregnancy and birth section of our body book. When playing make-believe, I would pretend to deliver babies or stuff my belly with a doll, acting out pregnancy and birth. As a child, I dreamt of becoming an obstetrician until I learned that the path involved frequent surgeries and medical school.

I worked as a nanny for over 14 years, caring for numerous newborns, babies, and young children. After graduating from UCSC, I dove into birth education and doula training courses, ultimately finding my place with Birthing From Within.

As a doula, I frequently incorporate my learnings from BFW into my work with families, using birth art, teaching breath awareness techniques, and leading families through this transformative journey.

I recently got married and am very much looking forward to starting a family of my own. Becoming a mother is something I dream of often. I see motherhood as the most important role here on earth, which is why I have always felt the calling to work with new families.

Through Beaming, I get to expand my love for photography by capturing the beauty of pregnancy, birth, new life, and families. It’s incredibly rewarding to support new parents through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, while also documenting the entire journey for them.

My Philosophy

  1. You deserve to feel safe, held, supported, and respected during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

  2. For a family to thrive, the mother's well-being is essential. When mothers are supported and held, they can create a healthy and happy environment for their families.

  3. I truly believe that the experience we have during birth and meeting our babies for the first time has a ripple effect throughout all cultures all over the world.

I have always felt a pull and a feeling of deep admiration towards pregnancy, birth, babies, and motherhood. After having the honor of witnessing and supporting many births over the last few years, I see pregnancy and birth as something so magical. I believe that birth holds an immense power to imprint on mother-baby, shaping their bond and journey together.

I don’t see birth as the medical event that it’s so often made out to be. It’s so much more than that. When physiological birth unfolds, it can be experienced as a majorly transformational spiritual and sacred life event. The moment you meet your baby is the moment you cross your threshold into new parenthood, and that is so much bigger than a medical event. Our current birthing norms in our society have strayed far from the very basics of birth. Birth at its very core is instinctual, intuitive, primal and raw. When we rely on the heavy use of medical intervention for birth, this can dilute and even erase our birthing instincts and intuition.

In my work as a birth doula, I draw my knowledge from the births I’ve had the honor of witnessing over the last few years. I’ve learned so much from the amazing families who I’ve journeyed with. I also incorporate the principles of Birthing From Within, ensuring a holistic approach to the birthing process.

My hope is that through our journey together through pregnancy leading up to your birth that you form a deep trust in your own body’s innate ability to birth your baby, and your baby’s intelligent role in the whole process. My goal is to guide you to dig deep within to search for your wisdom and inner knowing as a new mother.
